Willows Farm is a beautiful 165 acre, regenerative, cattle farm, raising 100% grass finished beef and high quality hay. Our farm is family owned and operated and is located in the beautiful rolling hills of northeast Frederick County in Union Bridge Maryland, just off route 75 on a quiet, country road. Please note the farm entrance address is 11935 Simpsons Mill Road, Keymar, MD, but the farm is technically located in Union Bridge. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and relax near the campfire with your wood fired dinner. This site has electric and water hookup and firewood is available for a small fee. The campsite is situated at the highest point of Willows Farm, offering tranquil farm views, gorgeous mountain vistas and spectacular sunsets. Soak up the beautiful countryside during your stay on the farm and hike our 25 acres of wooded property and chase a few bunnies and spot a herd of deer. Take a brisk walk to the cattle pastures and chat with our curious and friendly Black Angus heifers, Eleni, Lola and Maggie and say hi to our horse Albe. All of the fencing at Willows Farm is electric to keep our cattle and horse in and you will get shocked if you touch it. Please be mindful of this with your pets and children. If you are fortunate enough to have the timing right, you can even watch an airplane take off and land on our farm grass strip — "Willows Landing", which is just to the north (cardinal direction) of the campsite. Just 30 minutes to Gettysburg battlefields, historical downtown Frederick, and many other exciting places for exploration, Willows Farm is a great location for fun! Spend an evening watching Bull riding and barrel racing at J Bar W Ranch just a few minutes down the street in Johnsville. If vineyards and breweries are your thing we are just 15 - 30 minutes from many fine establishments. A few of our favorites are Black Ankle Vineyards, Linganore Winecellars and Attaboy Beer. Antique shopping abounds in the nearby charming, little town of New Market. So you're hungry and have a hankering for local cuisine? Take a five minute drive to the quaint downtown of Union Bridge and visit one of the three delicious family run restaurants. You can even take a few minutes to give your truck a bath at the Union Bridge Car Wash in the middle of town. Enjoy your stay and please contact us if we can help with anything.

The Woods at Willows (Site #2)

Idyllic, private, and convenient

My family of four and our dog all had an excellent time tent camping at Site #2! Despite our rocky/muddy start (it just finished raining when we arrived), the instructions and signs to get there were great; Curtis was communicative, responsive and kind (went above and beyond); the wooded site was perfect for our large tent, seating around the firepit, and hanging a hammock between trees. The outhouse was clean and convenient. Our kids loved finding toads and seeing the cows on the farm. Curtis brought us firewood that he’d kept dry in the rain, which really helped us get set up. Unfortunately the clouds kept us from our planned star-gazing but there was a nice open area that would be perfect for doing so under better weather conditions. Really, everything was fantastic, if only the weather had cooperated. Recommend 4wd ( as is noted in the description), if accessing site 2, especially after or during rain. We will try to get back to enjoy clearer skies and drier ground.

Sunset Hill at Willows Farm-Site #1

Awesome views

This site is awesome! Beautiful views in every direction. The site is very private and more than a mile away from the other site. Great location for bird watchers too. Everything Curtis says in the Hip Camp description is absolutely accurate. Curtis is a great Hip Camp host. I will definitely be back again.

Sunset Hill at Willows Farm-Site #1

Nature at its best!

Willows Farm is absolutely beautiful! Curtis was very responsive and friendly. He even took the time to meet us. I highly recommend this location if you want to experience nature at its best. We met a horse, saw cows and had the most amazing view! The picnic table was a nice touch which allowed us to have dinner at sunset. There’s also a fire pit to make s’mores.

A lovely (albeit soggy) evening

The rain made my night less than ideal, but is no reflection on the site. It was really pretty, very secluded and the pit toilet was beautifully maintained. I would stay again!

Sunset Hill at Willows Farm-Site #1

We loved our stay at Willow’s farm! The farm was beautiful and my husband and I and our two dogs loved exploring the property. It was really easy to get to and to set up our camper at site 1. We enjoyed some peace and quiet by the fire and got to see some beautiful sunsets! Curtis was a perfect host. I would highly recommend this place for camping. Also the electric and water hookup were very convenient.
